Rescue is a very time consuming and expensive job.  If you love your breed and would like to help out in some way, look around your house for extra things you may have that Siberians can use.

  • Old towels, blankets and bedding.

  • Bleach and cleaning supplies.

  • Frontline.

  • Heartgard.

  • Paper towels.

  • Food bowls.

  • Water buckets.

  • Dry dog food (Nutro lamb and rice, lite and senior formula; Wellness fish and potato, chicken, or senior formula; Pro Plan chicken and rice formula) or an Agway gift certificate for these items made out to Angels of the Snow.

  • Rescue Remedy.

  • Grooming tools: shedding combs, undercoat rakes, etc.

  • Shampoo.

  • Forced air dryer.

  • Grooming arm.

  • Wire crates (30, 36, or 42 inch).

  • Molded crates (400 or equivalent size).

  • Collars and leashes.

  • Chew toys (no rawhide, please).

  • Treats.

  • Donations for Vet expenses may be made directly to Eastham Veterinary Hospital via check or credit card with request to apply to Angels of the Snow account.  Contact: Eastham Veterinary Hospital, 725 State Highway, Eastham, MA 02642.  Telephone: 508-255-0149.

  • Donations for emergency boarding expenses may be sent to Angels of the Snow, P.O. Box 434, N. Eastham, MA 02651.  Please note "boarding expense" in memo of check.

And, if those aren't enough ideas, here are some others:

  • Adopt a dog from a rescue or a shelter.

  • Become a Foster Home to give temporary care to a dog until a permanent home can be found.

  • If you can't Foster, Sponsor a rescue at a boarding kennel for a month or longer.

  • Join SiberExpress, our volunteer dog transporting team.

  • Donate money in any amount whenever you can.  Contributions are tax-deductible.

  • Make a donation In Memory of a Pet.  We'll post it under Liberty's Memorials.

  • Call your local shelter and make sure they know about a national or local rescue organization.  Click here for Angels of the Snow contact information.

  • Volunteer at a rescue or shelter to groom a dog of your breed or one of your choice.  Spending time with a dog to groom or just visit, even if only 30 minutes, will improve that dog's chance of getting adopted.

  • Do a home check for a rescuer trying to place a dog in your area.

  • Spay/Neuter your pets so their unplanned pregnancies do not eventually end up in rescue.

  • Tell others that are looking for a pet NOT to buy from a pet store.  Instead, have them consider a rescue or shelter dog, or make sure they know how to choose a responsible breeder.  Click HERE to read the article by Pat Tetrault.
