Rocky is a 10-month old husky-shepherd mix. This absolute sweetheart has been at the Faxon shelter in Fall River since the day after Christmas. He is very good with other dogs and children, but not ducks or chickens. He has a wonderful disposition: he's very loving and is lots of fun to play with. Contact Faxon at 508-676-1061 Ext. 103.
Francine writes: We purchased a beautiful husky puppy 3 years ago and named her Nakita. She is red and white with blue eyes and is the sweetest dog ever. We loved her so much that eventually we thought about getting another husky. We found Max’s picture on the Angels of the Snow Web site and called for information. I spoke to Janice several times, and she really helped me make the right decision. On December 7, 2002, my son Elliot and I took Nakita and headed to Fall River. Max and Nakita really hit it off. We took Max home that day and have loved him ever since. Now, as you can see from the photos, Max and Nakita spend most of their time together. It’s clear they're very much in love.
It's Christmas morning, and Taz has been waiting patiently for the rest of the family to wake up so she can open her presents. Good dog, Taz. A few months later, Taz celebrates her first Taz-iversary with Mary. Time sure flies when you're having fun.
Adventures in Fostering Look what Santa brought me!
His name is Smokey. I can
only keep him it for a while, until his leg heals, then he has to go to another
home. Smokey was badly beaten in a
domestic dispute and almost lost his leg. The jerks then dropped him at
the local shelter and said he was "broken" and besides he bit people,
couldn't be housebroken, and barked all the time. All this before the little guy
was 14 weeks old! A kind shelter volunteer rushed him to her vet and a
team of doctors managed to save his leg. His
Achilles tendon had been ripped right off the heel. The cast finally came off
Christmas week and he is doing fine now. We started obedience classes last week.
Boz and Akki each had their own way of coping with the cold New England winter of 03-04. In typical husky style, Boz stretched out in the snow. In typical princess style, Akki curled up on her throne. Must be a gender thing. Or maybe a recessive gene.
This is Winter with her new sibling, Kelsey. Winter recently adopted humans Sean and Erin.
